This Lent, Batavia First Presbyterian Church invites you to a contemplative four-week study based on Richard Rohr’s profound reflections on “The Tears of Things.” Together, we will explore the mystery of how God meets us not just in our joys, but in the heart of our suffering, fragility, and the “tragic beauty” of the world. We will learn to see that everything belongs—even the broken pieces—and that our tears are often the very windows through which we glimpse the Divine. Richard Rohr teaches that the “tears of things” are not a sign of God’s absence, but a doorway into God’s deepest presence.
