In the Community

Pay attention to how God uses you each day to share love and care with others.

Jackson School

Join the Jackson School Partnership Efforts: You can volunteer in one of the classrooms, or cafeteria story time, or special events to help the children and teachers of our community.

Respite Social Program

Fourth Monday of the Month

Guests and volunteers enjoy four hours (10:30 am-2:30 pm) of activities and food to provide monthly respite care for caregivers of loved ones with dementia and to help our guests enjoy a Community Respite Social Program. To sign up, please contact us at fpcbatavia@outlook.com. We partner with the Alzheimer's Association.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making sure no child has to sleep on the floor. You can help by building and delivering free beds to families in need, making monetary donations, or donating bedding and pillows.  Their mission is simple yet powerful: “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”

Community Partners

Help one of our community partners: Crossroads House,  the Justice for Children Advocacy Center. We are grateful to God to be able to provide two the church's buildings to these service organizations. We also house the GLOW OUT Youth Drop-In Center.

Genesee County Cold Night Café

A Sanctuary of Warmth in partnership with Oak Orchard Health and Independent Living, we are grateful to serve as a "Code Blue" warming station. When temperatures drop below 32°F, our church parlor becomes a place of safety and dignity for adults in our community facing life-threatening cold.

  • Professional Care: The café is staffed by trained Oak Orchard Community Health professionals, connecting guests to health resources and support.
  • Location & Access: Located in our parlor at 300 East Main St. The café operates during late-night hours and opens only upon request by calling 585-340-1355.

Needs:

  • Food & Drink: Creamer, coffee, tea, protein snacks (beef sticks or beef and cheese sticks), individual bags of chips/snacks, and hearty microwavable meals.
  • Supplies: Trash bags, paper towels, napkins, and sanitizing wipes.
